Stop saying the word “Retarded”!
I hate when people say the word “retarded” when they are trying to insult someone or something. For instance: “Don’t wear that shirt — it makes you look retarded,” or “Damn that car is messed up — it looks all retarded.”
This is incredibly disrespectful and hurtful. Just think how this makes people with disabilities feel who have historically been on the receiving end of this word’s malice.
The more this word circulates as an acceptable pejorative, the more it reenforces the oppressed position of people with disabilities in our society, which includes job discrimination, housing discrimination, social discrimination and ostracism, and even violence.
This post makes me so happy. God, i cant even put into words how much I hate the word “retarded” Ill explain more later <3

You see this man? In the first picture he looks healthy and happy, a funny kind old man. In the second he is sick. His skin is pale .. He looks older and the sad thing is these are only a couple years apart. But did you notice the one thing that remains the same is his smile? He has cancer and can die any day yet he remains so strong.
Please take one minute and read this because to me this man is the definition of strong and beautiful.

I dont know these kids very well, but I am very worried about them. My mom knows the girl’s family and knows that her mother is probably going insane right now. The boy was in my gym class last year and knowing the type of person he is, they could be in another state by now. Authorities believe that Mike wanted to harm himself. Please reblog this and pray for them, their friends and families are very upset and worried (at least thats how it appears on their facebook walls).
